Pour-over coffee is one of the most popular brewing methods in Brazilian homes. Here are some tips on how to get the best out of Orfeu during your break.
Ingredients:
- 20g of Orfeu Coffee beans – Tip: if you don't have a scale, use two heaped tablespoons.
- 200ml water at around 96 °C.
Utensils:
- Filter, filter holder, and carafe – suggestion Hario V60
- Scale
- Kettle
- Electric or manual grinder – Tip: If you don't have a grinder, check out the options here
Preparation Time: 5 minutes.
Servings: 2 cups.
Preparation method:
- Grind your coffee to a medium grind.
- Fold the filter flap and fit it into the filter holder.
- Rinse the filter and discard the water. This step is important to remove any paper residue.
- Add the coffee to the filter holder.
- Pre-infuse: Add a little water to hydrate the coffee and wait 30 seconds.
- After this time, slowly add more water in circular motions – from the center of the filter outwards.
- Remove the filter holder and enjoy your Orfeu.
