HOW TO MAKE POUR-OVER COFFEE

Pour-over coffee is one of the most popular brewing methods in Brazilian homes. Here are some tips on how to get the best out of Orfeu during your break.

Ingredients:

  • 20g of Orfeu Coffee beans – Tip: if you don't have a scale, use two heaped tablespoons.
  • 200ml water at around 96 °C.

Utensils:

  • Filter, filter holder, and carafe – suggestion Hario V60
  • Scale
  • Kettle
  • Electric or manual grinder – Tip: If you don't have a grinder, check out the options here

Preparation Time: 5 minutes.

Servings: 2 cups.

Preparation method:

  1. Grind your coffee to a medium grind.
  2. Fold the filter flap and fit it into the filter holder.
  3. Rinse the filter and discard the water. This step is important to remove any paper residue.
  4. Add the coffee to the filter holder.
  5. Pre-infuse: Add a little water to hydrate the coffee and wait 30 seconds.
  6. After this time, slowly add more water in circular motions – from the center of the filter outwards.
  7. Remove the filter holder and enjoy your Orfeu.
