MICROLOTE SEMANA DE ARTE MODERNA DE 1922

MICROLOT MODERN ART WEEK OF 1922

In 2022, Orfeu launched a microlot of coffee in a commemorative edition for the centenary of the 1922 Week of Modern Art. Thus, it extolled Brazilianness and the groundbreaking spirit of the 1922 Week through a high-acidity coffee with tropical fruit notes and packaging inspired by the colors of modernist artists' works.

Produced with Catucaí 24-137 Arabica beans planted and hand-picked on a steep slope, in a small plot of volcanic soil at Fazenda Laranjal, in Poços de Caldas, in the south of Minas Gerais.

A avant-garde and extremely limited production, of only 48 bags, the "Week of Modern Art 1922-2022" microlot from Orfeu brought pronounced acidity and sweetness. These characteristics are the result of its cultivation at over 1,100 meters above sea level and a medium-light roasting process, which enhances the balance of its intensity, the silkiness of its body, and the persistence of its aftertaste.

The special microlot was part of a cultural initiative by the company in partnership with Pinakotheke Cultural, which presented the exhibition "Victor Brecheret and the 1922 Week of Modern Art" at its headquarters in São Paulo (August 31 to October 1, 2022) and in Rio de Janeiro (October 10 to November 5, 2022). The exhibition brought together more than 50 works of art by modernist artists, 12 of which were presented at the 1922 Week of Modern Art. It was also possible to virtually visit the exhibition at Pinakotheke through a QR Code printed on the packaging of the special edition.
