The Orfeu coffee you drink begins before the seeds are even planted.
The farms develop their own organic fertilizers. It all starts with the planting of corn, which is used to feed the pigs. Their waste is used for composting and preparing the organic fertilizer that nourishes the coffee crop and is also used for planting the coffee tree seeds.
They are cultivated in a nursery, irrigated twice a day, with strict pest and disease control, until they reach the ideal point for planting. Meanwhile, the soil that will receive the seedlings is prepared and corrected. Approximately six months later, the seedlings are planted and will have their first harvest after two and a half years.
The same applies to Orfeu olive oils. Following the same concept of organic fertilization, the olive trees are fertilized with the solids resulting from the extraction process.
