The Orfeu coffee you drink begins before the seeds are planted.
The farms develop their own organic fertilizers. The beginning of it all lies in planting corn, used to feed the pigs. Their waste is used in composting and in preparing the organic fertilizer that nourishes the coffee crops and is also used for planting the coffee tree seeds.
They are cultivated in a nursery, irrigated twice a day, with strict pest and disease control, until they reach the ideal point for planting. Meanwhile, the soils that will receive the seedlings are prepared and corrected. About six months later, the seedlings are planted and will have their first harvest after two and a half years.
The same applies to Orfeu olive oils. Following the same organic fertilization concept, the olive trees are fertilized with the solid residues from extraction.
