Aluminum is widely used in the food industry for its ability to protect food from exposure to oxygen, moisture, light, and bacteria, ensuring a longer shelf life and preventing unnecessary waste.
In the case of Orfeu capsules, aluminum also contributes to preserving the sensory notes of its specialty coffees and to better performance in beverage extraction due to its resistance to high temperatures and pressure. A protective layer isolates the coffee from contact with the aluminum, creating a safe barrier between the two.
Commitment to sustainability
Aluminum's recyclability is one of its main characteristics. After years of useful life, the material can be reprocessed almost unlimitedly, maintaining its original material properties. Each coffee capsule has the potential to become another capsule – or something completely different, depending on the destination of the recycled aluminum.
